Ruatahi Medical Centre is open from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Cervical screening
Regular cervical screening can identify changes before they develop into cervical cancer.
The primary test for cervical screening is now an HPV test. Many people can choose to collect their own vaginal swab at the practice or another suitable location. A clinician-taken test may also be recommended depending on your circumstances and screening history.

Perimenopause and menopause
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect your periods, sleep, mood, concentration, sexual health and overall wellbeing.
You do not need to manage these changes alone. Our team can assess your symptoms, discuss available treatment options and help you find an approach that works for you.
When to seek urgent care
Seek urgent medical advice if you experience:
- Severe or sudden pelvic or abdominal pain
- Very heavy vaginal bleeding
- Bleeding during pregnancy
- Chest pain or difficulty breathing\
- Sudden weakness, numbness or difficulty speaking
- Thoughts of harming yourself or someone else

Costs
Standard consultation fees apply to most women’s health appointments. Some screening, contraception and maternity-related services may be funded depending on your age, eligibility and circumstances.
